Our Work
Local Election Research Institute compiles research from every municipality and school board to provide a comprehensive view of local elections in the United States. We provide policymakers, experts, and the public with cutting-edge insights about the health of our democracy at the most localized level.
We use the gold standard method to research the impact of a program is the Randomized Control Trial (RCT). In essence, it allows us to disentangle the impact of our program from everything else going on to recruit and support candidates in a state. This is the same method medical research uses to prove drugs are effective. It works.
Every community is impacted by its local election and too often insights about the local issues and their impact are overlooked. This missing information causes local elections to be siloed and non-inclusive.
That’s where we come in.
We offer research tools and insights to expand the knowledge and access to better engage with and support our democracy on the local level.
As a result, policymakers, experts, and the public:
conduct more trustworthy, inclusive elections
troubleshoot and prepare for problems in advance of Election Day
better inform their community with the information they need in order to vote
increase civic participation
